我们的又一个校内艺术展区精彩启幕，位于教学楼入口处的「聚光艺廊 Artist in the Spotlight」是面向全校学生开放的自主艺术展示空间，每位学生艺术家均可携原创作品，自由申请、自主布展，打造专属自己的小型艺术展。

欢迎欣赏本期艺术展作品，来自G12年级学生Elin Siu，截止目前，她已收获多枚伦敦艺术大学、伦敦大学金史密斯学院录取，专业涵盖艺术指导与视觉特效、交互设计、数字艺术计算。

At Yew Wah Gubei, the artistic brilliance of our students greets you the moment you step onto the campus.

We are delighted to announce the grand opening of our newest on campus art exhibition space — Artist in the Spotlight Gallery, located at the entrance of the teaching building. As an open, student-led art space for the whole school, every student artist is welcome to present their original works, apply freely, curate and install their exhibits independently, and hold their own dedicated mini art exhibition.

We invite you to appreciate the works in this session’s exhibition, created by Elin Siu, Grade 12. To date, Elin has received multiple offers from the University of the Arts London and Goldsmiths, University of London, with majors spanning Art Direction and Visual Effects, Interaction Design, and Digital Arts Computing.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Man Yuk (Elin) Siu的艺术实践始于对传统绘画的系统训练，她在此过程中熟练掌握了水彩、铅笔、油画等多种媒介。她始终对与自身经验紧密相连的事物保持着持续的关注与探究一一无论是目光所及的日常景象、内心涌现的思绪，还是源自内在深处的向往与困惑，皆构成其艺术表达的重要起点。

在创作过程中，Elin常将梦境、维度、神话与时间等抽象议题转化为具象的视觉形象。于她而言，具象的表达方式能够更清晰地承载对抽象概念的思考，而纯粹的抽象绘画则如同一层迷雾，指向那些难以言说却真实存在的直觉与情感体验。她致力于在具象与抽象之间探索平衡，逐步建构属于自己的叙事路径。

Man Yuk (Elin) Siu' s artistic practice began with rigorous training in traditional painting, through which she developed proficiency in a range of media including watercolor, pencil, and oil painting. She has consistently maintained a strong interest in exploring subjects closely connected to her own lived experience whether the everyday scenes within her field of vision, the thoughts that surface in her mind, or the yearning and confusion rooted deep within her inner world. These elements often serve as the starting point for her artistic expression.

In her creative process, Elin frequently transforms abstract themes such as dreams, dimensions, myths, and time into concrete visual imagery. For her, figurative representation offers a clearer way to articulate reflections on abstract concepts, while purely abstract painting functions like a layer of mist—pointing toward intuitive and emotional experiences that resist direct description. She is committed to navigating the space between these two approaches, seeking to establish her own distinctive narrative path.

在无垠的宇宙中，无数平行世界同时并存。一位普通的旅者，在梦中穿越不同的时空，遇见了自己各种各样的模样：有的是满怀梦想的青年，有的是睿智深沉的长者，有的是天真无邪的孩童。他们身份各异，但都在探寻生命的意义。

In the boundless universe, countless parallel worlds coexist simultaneously. A simple traveler, in his dreams, traverses different times and spaces, encountering various versions of himself: some are young people full of dreams, some are wise and profound elders, and some are innocent and simple children. They have different identities, but all are seeking the meaning of life.

梦的开端，我努力让自己快点入睡。我回忆起网上看到的一个快速入睡的方法，于是想象着自己的眼球缀缓顺着重力的方向下沉。

渐渐地，我的身体变得绵软无力，就像清晨半梦半醒时那种“鬼压床”的状态。就在这时，一种异样的感觉出现了——从我的头部到颈椎，一股冷热交织的能量缓缓流动，仿佛有人轻轻捏着一张纸巾的一角，将我的意识往上提。

The beginning of the dream: I tried to fall asleep quickly. I recalled a method for falling asleep quickly online, so I imagined my eyeballs slowly sinking in the direction of gravity.

Gradually, my body became soft and weak, just like the "ghost pressing the bed" state when one is half asleep in the early morning. At this moment, an unusual feeling emerged - from my head to my cervical vertebrae, a mixture of coolness and warmth energy flowed slowly, as if someone was gently holding one corner of a tissue and lifting my consciousness upwards.
